The first (Thuyen Thung) and most picturesque boat row boat in Vietnam

The idea of painting on a basket boat derives from the Pilot Project “Community-based Tourism Development in Tam Thanh”, chaired by the People’s Committee of Tam Ky City, Vietnam Electric Equipment Corporation South (GELEX) support 1.1 billion.

In addition to the professionals and lecturers from many universities and volunteers from the Community Development Fund (CDF), the project also attracts more than 20 painters, photographers, sculptors and cultural researchers.

On the picture is artist Tran Thi Thu is performing his work on the baskets. Of the 111 basketballs, there were 89 pitchers with a diameter of 1 to 3 m, 22 boats (baskets) of 4.5 m to 7 m.

More than 100 boats are donated by fishermen, some are bought. All of them are arranged in 4 locations, of which 2 are located along Thanh Nien road, one is near the house and the other is a place in the empty land of Truong Giang river.

With the budget of about 5 billion VND, Tam Ky City will continue to mobilize support from businesses and community development funds in the form of collective savings.

Tam Thanh community is also piloting unique tourism products to attract tourists, such as the boatboat experience on the Truong Giang River (currently there are 15 boats), homestay services ( 11 households – 19 rooms).

Tam Thanh Commune will develop infrastructure for the Tam Thanh Community Arts Village, including: parking lot, observation tower, tourist information board …

A model residential area, cultural space display Tam Thanh fishing village at the cultural village of Ha Thanh 1 is also under construction.
